They were just up the street from me, I was at the Ohana Reef Towers (Ohana and Outrigger hotels owned by same company and though the sign over the hotel entrance reads "Ohana Reef Towers" on the phone in my room was printed "Outrigger Reef Towers", but Reef Towers and Reef Hotel are two different places.) BTW Ohana is Hawaiian for family.

The costumes used in this show were not the originals. Sadly, those no longer exist. These costumes were made by a company that provides fans in Japan with the "Kikaida Experience". For a fee you can have Kikaida, Kikaida-01 or Hakaida come to your party (if you live in Japan that is).

It was great fun to meet Ban, Daisuke (Jiro/Kikaida) and Ikeda, Shunsuke (Ichiro/Kikaida-01) if even only for a few seconds and without being able to speak to each other. The stage show was short, included no monsters and little fighting between 01 and Hakaida, but for those of us who watched Jinzo Ningen Kikaida and Kikaida-01 on KIKU as children seeing our heroes in action one more time was a dream come true. I hope these photos stir memories in both those who made it to the the Hawaii All-Collector Show and those who were not able to attend.

(sent to me by Ilene and Wayne)

Mahalo to Pomai Souza (aka HaynKikaida) for telling me my childhood hero would be in Hawaii so I could make the trip, for driving me to the show and back to my hotel as well as to my family's old house, for the video tape of the show and letting me borrow some still photos for this page, for the photo of the two of us at Collector Maniacs (below) and generally being a friend, to Ilene and Wayne for producing the Hawaii All-Collectors Show and for mentioning me (indirectly) and my web page in the newpaper interview, to J.T. (aka Sidemachine) for several photos, especially photo of himself (I ran out of film while he was there), to Scott Shinsato for the photos from his friends digital camera and to Toni Au for NOT handing me a bowl of poi when we met :-) Aloha cousins. - Kewalaka (Stuart)
